WPA member societies include national psychiatric societies whose goals and ethical standards are consistent with those of WPA. All WPA member societies are national in scope, deal with the whole field of psychiatry, are legally recognised and have been active for a minimum of three years in their country. A member society's voting strength is determined according to the number of psychiatrists their organisation represents.
